Articulated Toad Necklace

£140.00

Wisened, orange eyed, older than old,

You thrum your throat song, of past ages told.

You sing to your eggs that float in jet onyx reems, the song of re-remembering our ancestors dreams.

You who traverses the threshold of water and land.

You who feels knobbly and cold to the hand.

You who is a sorcerer of the liminal space

And yours is the elders life lined face.

This articulated toad necklace features two hand hammered copper toads with moving front legs. The toad bodies are made of fired ceramic beads.

The surrounding black and clear glass beads mimick stings of toadspawn.

Something about this piece is very whimsical, harking back to memories of the fairytale ‘The Princess and the Frog’. The necklace feels adventurous and hopeful, with magical powers of transformation.

This piece is more delicate and although made to be worn is perhaps more suited to ceremonial or occasion wear.
